Job Summary

**Background**


Citigroup Global Markets Limited ("CGML") develops a range of rules-based investment strategy Indices and offers investment solutions for both institutional and retail investors enabling exposure to investment allocation strategies through Index linked financial products. The range of strategies target cross-asset investment themes leveraging full spectrum of financial instruments and seek to respond to investors' needs for innovation, risk mitigation, transparency in systematic investments and to balance efficient implementation with solid investment rationale.


CGML shall be considered an Administrator of Indices within the definition of a "Benchmark" as set out in Global Financial Benchmark Administration Policy and is primarily responsible for all aspects of the Benchmark Administration process, including development, determination, dissemination and governance.


Citi Investment Strategies ("CIS") as a part of CGMLs derivatives and structured financial products businesses is responsible for development of Index ideas focused on systematic, rules-based, investable investment strategy Indices. Index Oversight Group is responsible for providing governance and internal oversight in all aspects of CGMLs Benchmark Administration activity.

**Citi Benchmark Administration ("BAT")** as a part of CGMLs Research & Equity Advisory division ("Citi Research"), independent from "CIS" and "Citi Research", is responsible for implementing Index ideas in the form of investable indices, testing Index methodologies, benchmark determination and dissemination process which includes ongoing calculation, publication, and maintenance of benchmarks. BAT is a global team with offices in London, Hong Kong, Mumbai, and Buffalo. This role is to strengthen our London team with an employee who has index development expertise in at least one asset class as well as experience with python-based quant libraries.


This is an opportunity to join London team in a role with primary responsibilities


+ Index Implementation for multiple asset classes (Cash Equities, Cross Asset Vol)

+ Back-testing of indices

+ Help the team in enhancement of index model libraries (python)

+ Work with stakeholders and partners (structuring, trading, quants, technology) to find and implement strategic solutions

+ Mentor and groom colleagues

+ Help global colleagues in ongoing Index maintenance which includes calculation in accordance with Index conditions documents, reconciliation of Index levels prior to dissemination and reporting for cross-asset benchmarks adhering to benchmark administration policies and control framework

**Qualifications**


+ Numerate background with a masters degree is mandatory


**Knowledge/Experience**


+ 5+ years relevant experience

+ Proven Index development experience with good understanding of index design and structures in at least one asset class is essential

+ Expert Python knowledge and having worked with libraries is essential

+ Proven experience to solve challenges through automations. Proven work experience to interface with databases

+ Proven work experience to interface with databases and SQL is essential

+ Knowledge of corporate events handling in Cash Equity Indices would be beneficial

+ Knowledge of Market Data services (Bloomberg, Refinitiv) is essential
