Position Overview:





Chevron Shipping provides a variety of commercial services within Chevron. This position, within the Term & Commercial Projects group in London will support the Manager, Term & Commercial Projects in developing and executing mid- and long-term coverage strategies through bareboat, time-charter and COA contracts. The candidate will also be involved in providing value-added marine commercial support to Upstream organizations via projects that have a significant marine component.





Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:





Provides support to the Manager, Term & Commercial Projects in the following areas:




Development, approval and implementation of CSCs global coverage strategy for mid and long term (1- 5+ years) time and bareboat charters for international flag tankers.


o Monitors Chevrons long term marine transportation requirements through engagements with the S&T and VCO organizations and other stakeholders and contributes to the term teams recommended coverage strategy to manage marine risk and deliver financial value.


o Work with the CSC Commercial team and other stakeholders in developing and executing profitable time charter business by following tanker markets and assisting in the development of a CPOV to guide CSCs term chartering. o Works with the commercial spot chartering segment teams as a sector specific subject matter expert to guide on term market developments and ensure the provision of sufficient market information to enables value adding decision making.


o Monitoring and understanding developments in the newbuild and timecharter markets, and associated opportunities and threats to our coverage strategies and business objectives.


o Liaise with the strategy and business planning group to closely align on trends and developments within the energy transition and associated implications for future coverage strategies and fleet composition.


o External focus in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key shipbrokers, shipowners and shipyards.


o Negotiates and implements time and bareboat charter transactions.


o Assimilates market and industry information from a wide variety of sources and where appropriate condense/ disseminate key points to the wider CSC team.


o Provides ad-hoc process development support in development and maintenance of contract terms, term group processes and adherence to all corporate requirements.




Seek ways to provide value-added marine commercial support to the Upstream. Responsible for identifying and engaging with Upstream projects that have a significant marine component.


o Major Capital Project support (FPU / FPSO / FSU / semi-submersibles etc.)


o Develop and maintain FPSO contractor relationships (shipyards, owners etc.)


o Cost estimation and contract reviews


o Marine Service Agreements (e.g. contract reviews, charter party contracts)


o Assists in miscellaneous efforts to expand CSCs customer outreach





Required Qualifications:

+ Experience in Chartering or commercial negotiation experience is essential.

+ Extensive knowledge of marine contracts (charterparties) and tanker markets is preferred.

+ Must have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable using these to seek and achieve alignment amongst a group of stakeholders.

+ Ability to identify, develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders that can be leveraged to meet the needs of the business whilst delivering commercial value.

+ Demonstrated analytical skills for the development, evaluation and presentation of marine economics.

+ Ability to makes quality decisions under time pressure that meet business needs and respond quickly to changing business conditions / priorities.
